I make
things.
Design, apps, food, stories — been doing this long enough to know it's all the same problem in a different medium. Fifteen-plus years in UX and strategy. Currently building tools nobody asked for and writing books that took decades to be ready for.
Selected work
Lyriem
End-to-end UX for a no-platform-fee freelance marketplace — two distinct user types (Makers and Initiators), each with their own onboarding, profiles, and workflows. Covers signup through project completion: search, bidding, messaging, smart contract execution, escrow, and on-chain reputation.
Goal Make a technically complex platform feel straightforward to both sides of the transaction.
greyspace
ADHD-focused paper planner system — physical product, digital companion PWA, and full brand identity. Launched via Shopify + Lulu print-on-demand. Built around the idea that clarity matters more than completion.
Goal Give ADHD people a planning tool that doesn't treat them like they're broken.
Classical Mahjong
Full classical Chinese mahjong PWA — solo play against AI opponents with adjustable difficulty, practice mode with face-up tiles, and round-based scoring. Built as a heritage project first, a commercial product second.
Goal Make the game my family played something my kids can play too.
Lectio
Read-along audiobook PWA with Azure TTS integration. Built for accessibility and focus — a personal tool that turned into something other people wanted too.
Goal Make long-form reading accessible for people who think in motion.
Where There Is Tide
Historical fiction rooted in my family's refugee experience — Teochew-Vietnamese diaspora, the fall of South Vietnam, a boat crossing. A story that took thirty years to be ready to tell.
Goal Preserve a story that would disappear with a generation.
Howler
Blue-collar space opera following freight runner Hank Calloway and ship AI Marlow. Gritty, character-driven, built in a universe with enough weight to sustain years of story. Heading to Substack.
Goal Write the kind of sci-fi that smells like engine oil and bad coffee.
On the work
Fifteen-plus years across UX, strategy, brand, and design systems. The work tends to live at the intersection of how something looks and how it functions — the through-line is making things that are considered at every level, from the system architecture to the thing you actually interact with.
On everything else
Vietnamese-Chinese heritage, American upbringing, and a long list of things made outside of client work — apps, fiction, games, food. The practice doesn't stop when the brief ends. That's probably why the work tends to be good.
